That Trot's article about Israel Shamir can be found in the latter's Wikipedia entry http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israel_Shamir which is a little more balanced, at least in the sense of offering links to Shamir's own website, where he explains and defends himself.

I don't know if Shamir is a fascist, but he certainly doesn't seem to mind being mistaken for one, especially through his publicly-conducted 'friendships' with people like homo-fascist Martin Webster and neo-fascist Horst Mahler. However, what people don't seem to grasp about 'neo-fascist' Mahler is that he is, above all, a religious fanatic. He sees his crusade against Jews in Manichaean religious terms (judging by a recent interview he gave to a Jewish journalist for the German edition of Vanity Fair). It's this religious fanaticism that links him more than anything to Shamir.

I don't know who Israel Shamir is. I doubt if anyone does. He's had so many different names and nationalities that I suspect there are days when he doesn't know himself. Reading his potted biography - with those details supplied by himself and others - I have to admire his willingness to re-invent himself, though I can understand why others might regard this process as involving outright fraudulent misrepresentation of the facts.

Above all I am struck by his rootlessness. This is a man in desperate search of a stable identity. His positions change frequently. All that remains constant is their extremism. Indeed, I suspect that extremism is what offers Shamir his only sense of stability.

My own feeling is that he's on his way to becoming a Muslim. I'm sure we can expect news of his conversion within the next three years - and then shortly afterwards the announcement of his honorary membership of Hamas, Islamic Jihad and Hezbollah, all of which he'll then abandon within a further three years for not being extreme enough. In the final phase of his life he may well return to Judaism, become a rabbi and found a society in memory of the Israeli settler who massacred Palestinians in a mosque some years ago.

In order to speed up this process I'd like to direct Shamir to the website of Rabbi Tovia Singer, who has dedicated his life to combatting the activities of 'Jews for Jesus' and trying to lead Jewish-born Christian converts back to the One True Faith: www.outreachjudaism.org

Jewish chauvinist Singer's devastating critique of the Crucifixion story (as reported so inconsistently in the Gospels) and other Christian myths is quite brilliant. As an atheist, I'd love to read Shamir's response. The site also contains a translation of Luther's notorious 'On the Jews and their Lies' (1543) - necessary reading for anyone wishing to understand both Mahler and Shamir.

What is my agenda here? I can state categorically that I am not a part of the 9/11 conspiracy. And I am also not a supporter of the positions taken by our very own neo-con Violet-Elizabeth, Virginia Raines/Metze, whose suggestion that Shamir's English prose is too flawless to have been written by a non-native I find peculiar. Shamir's prose, though highly impressive, is riddled with non-native errors. However, for me the detail from his CV that most makes me question him is his claim to have been a paratrooper. In my experience male fantasists the world over always place themselves among the paratroopers. An ordinary infantry regiment - let alone the Royal Corps of Transport - just wouldn't do. Shamir certainly doesn't look like any ex-para I've come across. In the photo of him accompanying his Wikipedia entry he looks like a member of the 1970s disco kings' group, the Village People, who, as I remember, also liked acting out butch roles for the enjoyment of the masses.

"Mr McGovern" is a good cop coming after the bad cop of "Eve Demian" on Peter's list - maybe even the same person, now an obnoxious Jew, now a polite Scott. For him, wikipedia hatchet job on me, is "balanced", while my call to have equal rights for jews and non-jews is "extremism". But why should we spend time on views of a man who confuses Hegelian and Manichaean?

The Wikipedia article says “Shamir is an active supporter of coalition and interaction of Far Left and Far Right.” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israel_Shamir This is correct, and it is my own approach too; but it is a truncated Right and a truncated Left, i.e. the Trots at the UltraLeft and the extreme racists at the UltraRight are not part of the coalition/interaction.

Frederick Töben is part of the interaction. But he once was a high-school teacher in Nigeria, where he had black students. One cannot imagine William Pierce doing that.

I have been involved in such coalition-building since 1990, when I was engaged in a campaign against a Japanese city being built in Australia.

It was at the height of Japan Inc., before the stock market crash took its toll, and opponents were tagged “Racist” & “Xenophobe”. A small group of people, half of the Far Left and half of the Far Right, braved this onslaught and won the day.

I found myself at the centre of this group, because only I could keep the two halves co-operating.

I discovered then then the Far Left itself has two components: the Trotskyist part, which was dishing out these “Racist” & “Xenophobe” labels in the name of Universalism, and the remainder - call it “Stalinist” or “Maoist”  - which was prepared to work with Right-wingers to defend the nation.

After the “Multi Function Polis” (MFP) was defeated, the co-operation between the Far Left and Far Right factions dissolved. But it temporarily came back a few years later, when they united once again to defeat the Republic referendum. This proposed that Australia have a President elected, not directly by the people (which the Far Left wanted; myself too), but by the politicians in Parliament. The Far Right are mainly monachists.

Shamir is one of the most important intellectuals of our time, because he’s a “Jewish insider” who reveals the Jewish cultural attack on the West, and the deceptive tactics used, as Israel Shahak did before him.

Shamir and I have teamed up on many occasions. I was glad that he joined the Victoria debate, because it seemed that I was carrying the burden alone.

The last few bulletins of that debate showed that it was a part of wide-ranging campaign to cleanse the Internet of those who expose the Jewish role in politics. Alexander Baron and Jared Israel are part of it, as well as those who have written articles claiming Shamir is a “Swedish Fascist”.

Note that Victoria & co. campaign not as Zionists - they say they have no Jewish or Zionist affiliation - but as Universalists, i.e. as Anti-Anti-Semites.

Judaism does consider itself Universalist, despite its domination of the Goys.

This is also the Trotskyist mindset. But they are Left Gatekeepers, writing out the Jewish role in important events.

Will Israel Adam Shamir survive the current attack by the merde-hurlers whom you quote? Will you? I confidently predict yes in both cases. Biography Israel Shamir

A Jewish folk tale relates the story of a mute child who had never said a word despite all the efforts of the doctors. Then one day, at the ripe age of ten, he dropped his spoon and cried out, "The soup is too salty!" His parents asked him in amazement why he had kept silent for years, and the child replied, "Until now, everything was all right".

That is the story of Israel Shamir's sudden appearance in the English-language media. This leading Russian-Israeli intellectual, writer, translator and journalist was well known to his Russian readers, thanks to his books The Pine and the Olive and Travels in Japan, and to his translations of Joyce, Homer and Agnon into his native Russian. He did not write in English until January 2001, when Israeli attacks on Palestinians forced him to give up literature and turn to politics. Tony Greenstein (Blind eye to anti-semitism) is obsessed with Jewishness. He views the world through the prism of a Jewish Nationalist. He judges people by one criterion which he shares with my late grandmother: “Is he/she good for Jews?” He and his friends "Jews Against Zionism” claim to be antizionists, but Zionism is just a form of Jewish bourgeois nationalism, and not the only one. By creating their Jews-only organisation, Greenstein et al enforced Jewish separatism and caused unnecessary and dangerous split in the Palestine solidarity movement.

History repeats itself. Over a hundred years ago, the Russian Jewish socialists, Bund, (antizionists to a man) asked Lenin for permission to join his new movement as a separate collective member. ‘Everyone of you is welcome to join the common struggle of workers against Russian and Jewish moneybags, but as a separate group you would just split our forces’, he replied, and expelled the Bund. Our view agrees with Marx and Lenin’s reading of Jewishness. The Jews Against Zionism are but a Trotskyite offshoot of Bundism, and at least one of their members and co-signers of anti-Atzmon petition, Abraham Weizfeld, openly calls himself ‘a Bundist’. ...

Our view is quite different. The Holocaust narrative is used to enforce Jewish separatism and specialness, it is connected with that racist slur of “natural criminality of non-Jews”.. .. The British Communists may well take to their heart a retort of Vladimir Lenin, who wrote in 1913 from Krakow: “Dear comrades, if we shall keep mum today, tomorrow the Jewish Marxists will ride on our backs… The Bund turns socialism into nationalism”[1].

I was not unduly impressed by the appellation of ‘a notorious antisemite’ for this term has been thoroughly debased like Henry the VIII’s coin. The Jewish Week (April, 1 2005) condemned the Good Samaritan parable as ‘an antisemitic slur’; the Webster dictionary describes ‘antisemitism’ as ‘adverse attitude to Israel’s policies’; while Bar-Ilan University's Rabbi Dr. Pinchas Hayman told his listeners that "as long as Christians keep Jesus as God, they will be antisemitic”. Mr Pollard’s worldview was made clear by his reference to Ken Livingstone’s affair. If a person who considers a Jewish hack being above reproach because of his Jewishness were to fail to consider me ‘an antisemite’ I would be worried for I am adverse to Israel’s policies, venerate Jesus Christ and admire the Good Samaritan. Moreover, I stand for full equality of Jew and non-Jew, in Palestine and elsewhere, and this is clearly an ‘antisemitic’ position for Pollard and his kin.

I was even less impressed by Pollard’s reference to my assumed Swedish name. Next time he may call Salman Rushdie “actually a Mr Wiggins, a resident of Bienfait, Saskatchewan”. Writers’ lot is not always an easy sailing. I walk under a fatwa not less scaring than that of Rushdie, for my name is on the hit list of Jewish Defense League, and I do not intend to be as accommodating to them as Mr Pollard perhaps would like. (This comparison goes a long way, for I am not less critical to Judaism than Mr Rushdie to Islam; but Jewish assassins are more successful than their Muslim competitors, and the British readers may remember Lord Moyne and many others.) Israeli newspapers are quite critical of me, but they never published such rubbish (“actually, a Swede…”) for I am quite well known locally.  ...

I noted that You too have adopted the myth that Israel Shamir is in fact a Swedish anti-Semite named Jöran Jermas. As a Swede, I happen to know a little about the organization behind this "revelation". I'm talking about Expo, who has existed since 1995 with the outspoken purpose of fighting racism in any form. However, their devotion to Zionism has remained unknown to many.

In their magazine they used to send a "Thanks to" different organizations, with which they cooperate. Among those organizations Expo was so eager to openly promote, we find the Anti-Defamation League (ADL). That ADL has a habit of always defending Israeli war crimes is in no way differential to other of Expo's friend (for instance, they openly cooperate with the German anarchy-communist AntiFa, who every year arrange demonstration in memory of the bombing of Dresden - not to condemn the bombing of civilians, but to support it! "Bomber Harris, do it again!" they yell with Israeli flags in their hands. However, Expo also cooperates with British Searchlight, led by the Zionist Gerry Gable).

But openly having ties with the Israeli spy organisation ADL must of course be taken serious. According to Jeff Blankfort, who was exposed to ADL's spying, they still continue with paying of spies (read more on www.adlwatch.org  )

When referring to ADL in a footnote in an article on Shamir, Expo wrote that "Anti-Defamation League, ADL, is an American Jewish organization that monitors and watch over right extremism and anti-Semitism."

As far as I know Expo has never denounced ADL.

I'd also like to mention in particular of the people at Expo. I'm speaking about Fredrik Malm, chairperson of Liberal Youth and an enthusiastic defendant of Israel's apartheid. And as a matter of fact, he's a personal friend of Zvi Mazel, the fascist who destroyed Dror Feiler's art work at a museum here in Stockholm.

I hope this will help You understand why Expo spends time making up stories about anti-Semitism. Expo exists in the interest of Israel.

I was present at Israel Shamir’s book launch at the House of Lords. Not only that Lord Ahmed wasn’t mistaken in inviting Shamir, he should rather be praised for hosting a politically balanced and ideologically enlightening event. And yet the man who should be shamed is in fact Stephan Pollard who fails in dismissing the long history of the extensive collaboration between Zionist leaders and the British Empire. It is Pollard who managed somehow to forget Balfour declaration and Weitzman role behind it. Does Suez War (1956) ring a bell?

If this isn’t enough, Pollard proved to be pretty ignorant when Jewish religious issues are concerned. Somehow he has managed to forget the clear Jewish pray demanding 'God’s vengeance upon goyim'. As it seems, the Jewish religion, like many other religions, has its dark corners. And yet, to insist that Shamir or anyone else should remain quiet about it is a clear act against intellectual scholarship.

Being myself an Ex Israeli, I would argue that Shamir’s exposure of some unacceptable Jewish religious perceptions is enormously important. I would argue as well that Jewish people would be the first to benefit from listening and reading Shamir. To conclude, Lord Ahmed willingness to invite such a brave man is in itself a courageous act and a necessary step towards a deeper realisation of the current cultural and political crisis.

To my annoyance, this is a second time in one month your newspaper describes me as a “Swedish fascist” who “claims to be a Russian Jew from Jaffa” (Aaronovitch) or a “Swedish anti-Semite” (Pollard). When such ridiculous claims are published by obscure ADL-financed publications, one can shrug it off. When these claims are repeated by what was once the leading newspaper of the Empire, one is amazed by the lack of professional approach. A Times correspondent in Tel Aviv can visit me anytime and check whether I am a six-foot-tall blond Aryan supremacist with Swedish accent or not; there are thousands of Israelis who know me since 1968 when I came to Israel from the Soviet Union. I published many books including a translation of Joyce’s Ulysses, I served in an elite unit of the Israeli army, I was seen at the demonstrations in Bethlehem and Ramallah. I do belong to the Israeli Left. Israeli newspapers wrote about me many times; my biography was researched and combed by friends and enemies; but none rushed to reprint these silly rumours. If an overseas phone call is too expensive for you, the newspaper could ask Tim Sebastian or other old BBC hands, for I worked there in 1970s.

I do not mind being attacked by the likes of Pollard (his own article begins with: 'I am a warmonger. I am bloodthirsty. I am rabid.') and Aaronovitch (a Zionist cheerleader of the Iraqi War) – actually their support would be a greater embarrassment. But your readers deserve a better researched reporting. They are also entitled to know that the Aaronovitch’s article is but a rehash of a lengthy piece by an ostensibly anti-zionist Jewish Trot from JPUK on a far left site http://www.marxists.de/racism/antisemitism/counterpunch.htm , including quotes and errors. While these Trots do not mind to have a certified warmonger and Zionist as their bedfellow, all antiwar and antizionist forces may postpone their strife until better days.

It is intriguing to see Mr Aaronovitch straying from his usual Grauniad territory into yours, because it suggests an attempt to outflank the leftists and centrists from the right, before they manage to slip the leash and combine their various anti-zionist arguments into one broad front.

I say "leftists and centrists", because despite Mr Aaronovitch's "browns under the bed" scare tactics, there are few or no right wingers involved in anti-zionism. There are merely different schools of thought regarding the nature of, and consequently the correct mode of attack upon, Zionism, and the undeniable climate of global Jewish privilege that sustains it.

According to the perpetually recycled world-war-two hysteria that Mr Aaronovitch and the neoconservative movement (odd bedfellows, one would have thought) seek to implant upon the twenty first century, "the Jews" are still "the canaries in the coal mine of freedom" and anything that discommodes any of their many and ferociously antagonistic factions calls forth "beware the fascist beast" rhetoric.

However, the real world has moved on since world-war-two, and the substantive questions of holocaust numerology, comparative atrocity propaganda, blood libels, etc., are less important to most real world players than the psychology of perpetual Jewish endangeredness itself, which fits ill on a global super-power with special protective legislation enforced in all the "free countries of the world".

Mr Aaronovitch would be well advised to dismount from his "anti-nazi" high horse and inspect his troops. There may be fewer of them than he imagines.
